ABOUT OUR GUEST
Seth Greene is an award-winning expert in direct response marketing. Bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, Seth broke out of the typical 9-to-5 to create the market domination program and has moved on to become a nationally recognized expert on financial advice. His company ‘Market Domination’ is based in the East Coast and has helped numerous clients throughout the United States increase their sales and garner new customers.
Before all this, he worked as a financial planner for the nationwide investment firm of AG Edwards for 6 years. He soon realized that his department was restricting him in terms of the types of marketing he wanted to do. Craving growth and progression, he left his job to fulfill his dream of working for himself. After painstaking research and years of trial and error, Seth is now a successful expert, hailed as America’s Ultimate Marketing Magician.
One of his current projects is a done-for-you Podcasting Service, which he mentions at 1:36 and again at 9:52. This Podcasting Service “flips” the traditional form of podcasting in favour of a more modern format that gives faster, better results. To achieve this, he’s interviewed the top 20 current podcasters to learn how they grew their audience and monetized their shows. In his interviews, he realized that all podcasters were doing the same formula; grow audience and then earn money from selling adspace, affiliate commissions, and sponsorships. At 9:52, he discusses how his customized, unique model works in more detail.
At the 2:29 mark, Seth talks about how he went from a cold-calling, “smile-and-dial” 9-to-5 employee to the Ultimate Marketing Magician. As a professional magician, Seth admits that he was in no way the best out there. However, a chance encounter with a full-page ad for a marketing course enabled him to become the most expensive magician in Western New York. His love for marketing led him to find a mentor by the name of Dan Kennedy. Before he met Dan Kennedy, Seth was ranked 6,699th advisor. After two years of working Dan Kennedy, he was in the top 30. Dan Kennedy encouraged him to start a marketing company and Seth did his best to make it happen. The rest, as they say, is history.
Seth Greene admits that the best and worst part of his life is that he owns a business. Over the years, he’s learned many invaluable life lessons through his entrepreneurial and marketing stint, which he shares at the 15:00 mark.
1. It’s going to be okay
2. The best thing and worst thing in your life is that you own a business – but it always works out
3. Don’t spend the money – even mentally – until it hits your back account
At 17:21, Seth offers the best piece of advice he can give his listeners: Who you are affects how well what you do works. One of his habits that he believes strongly contributes to his success is his persistence, and he believes that you should do something every day to create new business without forgetting to make your existing clients happy. His marketing company does 133 different things to help their clients. At 18:30, Seth reveals that his business can’t live without Evernote and Zyte. He goes on to explain what Zyte is and how he uses it to create unique magazines featuring fresh, up-to-date content regarding digital marketing and others. And on the subject of written features, Seth offers all interested listeners – at 19:36 – a free downloadable copy of “Podcast Marketing Magic” – the very same book where he notes down his interviews with the top 20 podcasters.
