ABOUT OUR GUEST:
Rebel Real Estate Marketer Glenn Twiddle – also known as the man who bought Arnold Schwarzenegger to Brisbane – introduces himself to the listeners at the 0:55 mark by way of what he calls an “elevator script” – a 30-second scripted but natural-sounding introduction that quickly summarizes what you do and who you are. This is something he encourages all entrepreneurs to have.
In a nutshell, Glenn Twiddle provides a step by step, 1-2-3 system for real estate agents to get broaden their business, get more clients, and reach the Number One spot in their area in three years or less, regardless of experience. He is the first to say that he knows nothing about property. What he specializes in is simply teaching Agent A the business, marketing, and positions strategies he needs to be chosen over Agent B. Using a combination of ‘Guerrilla Marketing,’ ‘Outrageous Advertising’ and ‘Out of the Box’ marketing ideas, Glenn has helped some of the most influential and skilled agents in the country, and now Internationally including Canada, USA and NZ, take their career to a new level.
Behind the genius, however, is a simple man who fell in love with learning – as we learn at 4:19, where Glenn shares his story. He vividly remembers listening to over 5,500 hours’ worth of training, of people – as he puts it – smarter than him. One of his biggest takeaways from the whole thing was that almost every successful person speaking had a past full of hardship. Glenn remembers thinking that he wasn’t like those people at all – he had a relatively uneventful childhood without major setbacks or stumbling blocks. This got him wondering; are you supposed to go through adversity in your past to be successful? I didn’t see anything in my past, Glenn admits, that equaled my future.
His turning point – that moment when he wanted more – just snuck up on him. His friend invited him to a real estate seminar. Around that time, Glenn worked as a singer/guitarist. His workweek was Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon. The rest of the week was basically free time for him. When he was first introduced to real estate, he saw it as a hobby. All that changed when his mentor gave him “The Magic of Thinking Big”, by David Schwartz, which he mentions at 9:02. Being on receiving end of many MLM invitations, he was skeptical of the book at first, but he simply did what he was told.
That first book was simply the tip of the iceberg. He read hundreds of books and has listened to thousands of hours’ worth of training. Listening to other people’s successes made him realize that there was so much more to life. He has two big tips for starting entrepreneurs, which he shares at 11:17. He encourages all aspiring businessmen to find and invest in mentors. He also encourages them to give away a little bit of what they do best – for free – so that people can get a sample and come back for more. Visit www.realestatefreegift.com to get a sample of what he means.
He recounts his experience of hanging out with Arnold Schwarzenegger at his house for a poker game that lasted from 4pm all the way to 12 midnight. Jump to 15:40 to hear more about it.
At 17:00, he admits to being a big believer in Murphy’s law – everything that can go wrong will go wrong. However, he is still a self-proclaimed optimist, and he believe that everything’s going to be okay. He adamantly refuses to change anything about his past – lest it undo all he’s accomplished up until today. However, the one thing he wishes he learned earlier is how to market something. Glenn believes that you have to be better at marketing what you do than you are at actually doing it.
He shares his mindset to success at 21:49 – he is not the kind of man who lets his personal opinions get in the way of learning. He believes that one must always implement first and then ask questions later. Glenn Twiddle recommends Facebook as one of the best platforms for business. Freedom for him means going at something like a maniac and doing something that people aren’t willing to do so you can have things people aren’t willing to have. Freedom, for him, means being in a position that enables you to say yes any and every time magnificent opportunities come along.
His business hero is Richard Branson. His childhood heroes are Sylvester Stalone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. You can connect with him on Facebook or visit his official site, www.glenntwiddle.com.au. You can also check out www.realestategift.com – which he again mentions at 25:25 – for a step-by-step example of how he generates clients on the front ends, impresses them, and then gives them cool stuff for free. If people like it, they can stay a member. If they don’t, they are free to leave and are not charged anything. A man whose clients bought him a Harley Davidson motorcycle just to say “Thanks Mate!” and now about to host none other than Sir Richard Branson at his next event, Glenn has always said YES first and then worked out how to make it work! He is a life-long student who refuses to ever stop learning.
