Brandon Lucero, YouTube Marketing Expert, has been a part of numerous web-based companies over the last 8 years. He started early by building, growing and selling websites while attending UC Irvine. Some of those sites were even reaching 20,000 unique visitors in a day. With a wide portfolio ranging from humor to information sites he has bought, created, flipped, and developed numerous sites throughout his time in college. After leaving UC Irvine, he began working for a video marketing company and a local daily deal site based in Southern California. He quickly became VP of Production at the video marketing company where he held that position for 3 years before starting SoldWithVideo.com. 02:21 – Brandon shares some of his success stories. He’s built a list of over 20,000 people – for free! Roughly over $700,000 in digital product sales over the last twelve months. Last month, they had a soft launch for a new product and did about $30,000 in sales in a two-week span.

Living paycheck to paycheck, he started struggling when the company started struggling; clients were going to the competition, poor management – eventually, the paychecks stopped coming in. It was a rough point for him. In his spare time, he had to learn how to rank websites. Left the company, went on his own. Took him two years to finally have the breakthrough he needed.
06:57 – What was the turning point? There was no secret formula, but the answer is ridiculously simple. Brandon’s turning point happened when he reached out for help. He knew that he had the delivery and service part down pat. What he lacked was a sales process.

08:54 – Brandon shares some tips and advice he has for people who are looking to achieve breakthrough via YouTube. “One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they try to sell on YouTube,” Brandon says. “The trick to getting sales on YouTube is to not actually sell on YouTube.” The flow should be helping people via YouTube, getting them on an email list, and then directing them to a webinar. Always give value first.
12:33 – “I would recommend YouTube because it’s absolutely free,” Brandon says. “I guarantee you that if you just add value, you’ll get to that point in your videos [where] you offer more relatable value that they have to opt-in for and then once you start building a list, you run them to a webinar … you’re going to make sales.”
